My favorite calligraphy pieces are seating charts and place cards. Both services seem simple but can easily add so much to the mood of your wedding. Seating charts are so beautiful and can be made with a variety of materials such as mirrors, chalkboards, handmade paper, windows and acrylic. There’s a lot of creative ideas we can come up with together. Place cards are just as fun for me but in another way. Place cards are one of the first things your guests see at your reception and I believe it’s a great opportunity to be creative. My favorite place cards are stones and watercolor cards. Stones such as agate slices are so unique and actually a nice gift to take home. I also love the idea of creating a place card that can double as a favor. Watercolor cards are so beautiful and can really make a statement.

I do understand that not everyone wants or needs a calligrapher. This can be for a number of reasons. If you are more of a do-it-yourself person, I am also offering a Wedding Calligraphy Workshop. It’s a 3 part workshop where we go over calligraphy basics, envelope addressing, place cards and more. All supplies are included. This is being hosted at Lips and Lashes Bridal in Glen Ellyn. It’s a beautiful modern bridal space that would be perfect for your big day as well. During this workshop, I want to work with each participant to see what their calligraphy goals are and how we can achieve them. The dates for this workshop are May 17, 24, and 31 from 5-7.
