HoneyBook

There are tons of small businesses that think they have a small business but in reality, it’s hard work and most definitely doesn’t feel small.

Take me for instance. I started off 5 years ago with very little direction. I would have never thought I would one day be using a platform for small business to make my business run smoother. But the truth is, just managing my business by myself with spreadsheets and word docs was extremely stressful. I am a stay at home mom and that means my number one priority. I needed something that was so easy to use and make my life easier so I can spend more time with my family. Isn’t this what we are all doing? Trying to figure out a way to have an efficient day to enjoy our lives a little instead of just managing it.

For me, HoneyBook has been a game changer. I felt so prepared for managing my tiny little calligraphy business solely with the knowledge I gained from college. We won’t even talk about how that went for me. 2 years ago, I started to make something more of my love for calligraphy and wanted to have as few sign ins as possible. If I have 20 mins to spare, I want to spend it getting my work done not waiting for a log in to work or remembering a system. HoneyBook is so simple to use, seriously. You just log in and all of your important details are there. That’s a big deal to me. I feel like I can log in and get lost on some systems.

A huge feature that I love on HoneyBook has been the “Opportunities”. Here you can connect with other handmade artists and search for collaborations or requests. I think this is what initially drew me into HoneyBook. Here’s a simple screenshot of what it looks like when I click on that tab!

Your filters on there on the left and mine are obviously set to calligraphy type categories. After that, you can just scroll to see what’s going on around you. Opportunities to connect and exchange services; there’s so much here. I absolutely love doing styled shoots and I have found so many quality makers that have contributed big time to a few styled shoots. I really used to think I did most of this for fun. While that is mostly true, I didn’t want to start having added stress from this simple hobby. Not being able to manage my business easily is stressful. In the beginning, I didn’t even know what was out there. Once I started connecting with more artists and professionals, I was reminded many times that HoneyBook would be amazing for me.

I am here to share this with you mostly because it’s just fun and I don’t think everyone knows about it. I really wish I could have known at least 25% of what I know now when I started out. You can join me on HoneyBook and if you do, use this link to get 50% off your first year! Absolute steal! HoneyBook – Jess
